Ally Risk Manager in Detroit, Michigan
The Risk Manager (or Sr. Risk Analyst) -- Largest Exposures Group will be responsible for completion of comprehensive credit review reports, including renewal of existing credit lines and new business proposals, for Ally's largest commercial exposure accounts. Completion of credit reviews will require collaboration/communication with key dealership personnel and internal stakeholders, in-depth analysis of financial statements and key financial ratios, writing concise summaries of the customer relationship/recent events, and recommendations to mitigate risk and exposure. It is also expected that this position will support department training initiatives.
Note: A Senior Risk Analyst (3F) would also be considered for this position based on experience and growth potential.
Conduct financial analysis on dealership wholesale accounts from data obtained from both internal and external sources (including various financial statement types)
Ensure proposals / accounts are properly risk rated and are in compliance with corporate policies
Ensure analysis is accurate and recommendations address issues and exceptions to mitigate Ally's risk
Drive underwriting results to meet or exceed targets for volume and turn time
Work collaboratively with matrix partners for the development, production and approval of new business proposals
Be responsive to all requests for information made by the FDIC, Federal Reserve or internal IRM / quality control partners
Actively coach and mentor less experienced employees to maximize their potential
Undergraduate degree; Graduate degree preferred, but not required
Thorough understanding of commercial lending (including automotive dealership and wholesale administration)
Strong financial analysis and analytic/problem solving skills required
Proficient in intermediate MS applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
High level of interpersonal skills
High level of written and oral communication skills as well as attention to detail
Strong organizational skills and time management abilities
Strong project management skills and ability to effectively prioritize tasks
Ability to function effectively in a matrix organization and adapt to change quickly
