Ally Quality Assurance Senior Risk Analyst in Charlotte, North Carolina

The Quality Assurance Senior Risk Analyst will be a critical member of the Risk Appetite team responsible for the independent review of Risk Appetite Limits. The QA process has two primary objectives: 1) Verify that the data submitted for each limit is easily repeatable for historically reported values, through Quantitative Testing; and 2) Ensure the limit design restricts and elevates applicable risk appropriately and that all required attributes, per the Risk Appetite Standard, are reflected accurately within the Enterprise Limit Inventory, through Qualitative Testing.
Assist in the build out of the Risk Appetite Quality Assurance (QA) Process.
Execute the daily responsibilities involved in the QA process by facilitating meetings with leadership across the organization:
Organize required documentation (e.g., Desktop Procedures, evidence of limit recalculation, evidence behind threshold and Limit rationale).
Assist in the review and challenge of limits to ensure limit design restricts and elevates applicable risk appropriately and that all required attributes, per the Risk Appetite Standard, are reflected accurately within the Enterprise Limit Inventory, through Qualitative Testing.
Assist in the verification of data submitted for each limit to ensure repeatability for historically reported values, through Quantitative Testing.
Work closely with Data Providers, Approvers, and Owners within Independent Risk Management and the Business Lines to review and challenge the required documentation provided, ensuring compliance with the Risk Appetite Standard and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with Audit to ensure the QA Process is being conducted effectively.
Facilitate the annual review of Ally's Key Risk Metrics.
Manage multiple priorities under stringent deadlines to complete the review of all applicable limits annually.
Enhance current collection process through automation using MS Excel, SQL Server Management Studio, PowerBI, SSRS, or other tools.
Review the current state of Risk Appetite reporting and look for ways to align and simplify.
Maintain a strong knowledge of corporate policies and procedures including applicable federal regulations related to Independent Risk Management.
Work closely in a team environment to complete objectives.
3+ years of prior experience in the financial industry
Background in diversified financial services company is desirable
Wholistic understanding of banking and risks associated with banking (e.g., Credit, Operational, IT)
Risk Management/Audit experience a plus
Skilled in building reports and automation through SSAS, SSRS, MS Excel and PowerBI a plus
Experience in building new business processes and re-inventing existing ones to exceed business needs and eliminate redundancies and inefficiencies
Strong work ethic, persistence and determination in problem solving
Openness and desire to learn
Must be self-motivated
Ability to work in a team and fast paced changing environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to explain complex concepts and detailed findings efficiently
Strong analytical skills with a focus on root-cause-analysis
